The Many Deaths of Nora Dalmasso
A three-part true-crime docuseries about the unsolved 2006 murder of Nora Dalmasso, a wealthy woman found strangled in her home in Río Cuarto, Argentina. The investigation spiraled into a media circus, marked by sensationalism, classism, and misogyny. As suspicions fell on her teenage son Facundo, he became the target of homophobic speculation and was effectively outed in the press, turning the case into a public trial of identity and morality. Her husband was also accused years later but acquitted. The series follows the twists of a flawed investigation, exposes the personal and societal consequences of prejudice, and examines how Nora’s death—and her reputation—were repeatedly violated by the institutions meant to protect justice. Even after new DNA evidence emerges, justice remains elusive due to Argentina’s statute of limitations.
